However, it’s important to double-check the facts about the chemical you’re thinking about using before you pour it down your drain.
While the vast majority of clog-clearing chemicals advertise that they are safe for your pipes, you may be surprised to learn that this claim may come with a caveat or two. The chemical may be safe for certain types of modern pipes, but may not be safe for older systems. Or, the chemical may be safe for your pipes, but it may strip the enamel from your fixture, or kill helpful bacteria in your septic system.
